Jessica van de Ven is a Dutch ceramic designer living and working in Rotterdam.
Prior to her career as a ceramic designer she studied fashion at the Willem de Kooning Academy and worked as a fashion- and product-designer for various brands.
Recently she switched to designing and manufacturing ceramics and is nowadays specialised in the making of functional tableware and design-objects.
She draws on influences from fashion, art and design, combining precise craftmanship with a modern design process. Her fresh take on ceramics is contemporary and endlessly changing. Driven by the search for new and interesting forms, as well as the exploration of materials and techniques. Jessica creates tableware and design-objects mainly in stoneware and porcelain that are refined and functional.
The result is a series of handmade collections, both artful and useful.
